Experience

Doug has extensive experience in transactions involving estate planning, real estate law, tax, general business and corporate law.

His practice includes all aspects of estate and trust administration, estate and family business succession planning, charitable gift planning, and legal and tax aspects of tax exempt entities.

Doug has represented both buyers and sellers in all aspects of the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, construction and exchanging of commercial, industrial, residential and multi-family real estate.

He has extensive experience in general tax matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, including tax-free spin-offs, and partnership and limited liability company formations, liquidations, and reorganizations.

Accomplishments

Doug has received the AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rating™ by Martindale-Hubbell® – the most exclusive peer review rating offered to attorneys, indicating the highest level of professional excellence.

He also serves as a member of the adjunct faculty of Kent State University where he teaches classes in Estate Planning and Probate Administration, Civil Law and Procedure and Legal Ethics.
